Great Trainer Summit Uganda 2019

Great Trainer Summit Uganda 2019

Isaiah 42:6 – I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness. I will take you by the hand and keep you.

I'm excited to share with you some wonderful things that took place recently in Uganda. This past month a team of four KidZ at Heart staff members traveled to Kampala, Uganda to conduct a Great Trainer Summit training and meet up with our partnering school Kampala Evangelical School of Theology (KEST) and Grace Rwothumio, our National Training Network Coordinator for Uganda. As you may remember I lived four years in Kampala working at KEST, helping lead trainings, and building up local trainers. The people of Uganda are dear to my heart and I miss them daily. So I was happy to hear that a team of our staff was traveling there to meet with those that I love so dearly! (One of my dear friends Asaph is pictured above, he's helped take trainings to an area outside of Kampala called Jinja) Staff members Becky Dietz, Adam Ormond, and founders of KidZ at Heart Gordon and Becki West traveled to conduct the Great Trainer Summit where 16 were in attendance. These 16 leaders now have their KidZ at Heart Trainer Certification and can help Grace Rwothumio lead future Teacher Certification trainings at KEST and throughout Uganda. Our team was also able to affirm and encourage Grace Rwothumio as our National Training Network Coordinator for Uganda and also appoint Edwin Mutai as our National Training Network Coordinator for Kenya. (Edwin was at one of our first trainings in Uganda years ago and since has trained hundreds of leaders throughout the country) The team was also able to meet with our partners at KEST to work together to incorporate KidZ curriculum into their formal accredited courses giving special attention to their efforts to establish online training. To end the trip the team hosted a day-long spiritual retreat for those that attended the Great Trainer Summit, including some of the faculty and staff of KEST. God is truly doing amazing things in East Africa!

And lots more is happening in Africa in 2019. This May a returning USA team will lead training in Rushenyi. Uganda. Grace Rwothumio will be part of this team. In September a USA team will return to do trainings in Karatu, Tanzania. In April, our Southern Africa Regional Director, Lynnette Stander, will lead a team of trainers from South Africa to continue training in Salima, Malawi as well as Chipata, Zambia. Then in late October through the first part of November, Vice President of International Ministries Pat McWhorter will lead a team to train in Chongwe, Zambia and then head to a new country, Zimbabwe to launch a Local Training Network in that country.

Praise and Prayer Update:

  • Praise that our family continues to adjust well to the USA.
  • Pray for my monthly support fundraising goal. I'm still $250 short of my monthly goal and need to be fully supported by the end of March 2019. Pray that people would give or increase their current giving.
  • Pray for upcoming trips to Africa as I start to mobilize them. Teams will be going to Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Kenya.

"Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children. And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them...." Matthew 19: 14-14 (NLT)

Join my team and help me make goal!

Cheerful GiverWith just $250 left to raise in monthly support why not give a gift that will impact the lives of thousands of children!  Would you prayerfully consider partnering with me so I can reach goal by the end of this month March 2019? If just 5 people signed up for $50 monthly giving or 10 people at $25 monthly giving I'd reach goal. Let's help children fall deeply in love with Jesus!

Give Now!

Nyange Family Update

Nyange Family UpdateWe are going on month 6 of living in Florida after relocating from Tanzania. God has been very good to us and we continue to get settled and adjust to USA life. For now we are staying with my parents so they can help with our son Bryson when needed and Bryson is loving being close to Grandma and Papa Routzahn. Bryson has started talking and loves looking at books! He especially loves making farm animal sounds. Soon he will be saying complete sentences!
