Discovering God’s Higher Plan
By Maureen Berger
“… my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
— Isaiah 55:9
My journey during the past year has been nothing I could have imagined! Peek into my journey of God’s leading and provision as I enter my new role at KidZ at Heart.
Last summer: I feel the Lord preparing me for change. I don’t have any idea of what that might be, as I have been very comfortable in my role with another ministry. Is it really God speaking, or am I mistaking his voice?
September/October: I have peace that God is confirming his invitation to step forward in faith. He is the One leading to a new place, though I have no idea what or where! Through prayer and asking myself many questions, it has become evident that God’s call on my life — to equip others to serve him with a passion for children and discipleship — has not changed.
I remember my connection with KidZ at Heart. I am drawn to the KidZ website to see what possibilities may exist. A phone call with Gordon — it didn’t take long for both of us to get excited that God has orchestrated this. There is a new role available that fits my passions, gifts, and experience so well!
November-January: This is really happening! As I share more with my existing partner team, I am encouraged by their excitement. Many of them are staying with me for the upcoming adventure.
January-April: Still 40% of my monthly support budget must be raised, but God is impressing me that he will provide this by April. Each week, God clearly gives connections as others eagerly join my partner team through prayer and giving. Here it is the end of April, and I am ready to step into this God-created and prepared role just for me!
All to God’s glory … for truly, as Hudson Taylor said, “God’s work, done in God’s way, will never lack his supply.”
