Come Into His Presence

All my life I've known the privilege of a praying father. But now my dad doesn't pray for me every night.

Since November 6, he talks to the Lord face to face.

The loss of my dad's prayers may be the greatest loss of my life. Something very, very important is missing.

Development in 2018

By | 2019-01-15T13:03:24+00:00 January 14, 2019|Josh Rasmussen: Blog Posts, Staff Blogs|

Another year of great growth! God has led KidZ at Heart staff and board members through a number of milestones as we help children fall deeply in love with Jesus.

KidZ at Heart is setting the stage to allow for a rapid expansion of knowledge and skills. Joan, a National Trainer for KidZ at Heart, provides training in remote areas throughout the year. She conducted one specific training for 22 teachers in Olievenhoutbosch, South Africa (a place unfamiliar to [...]

2018: A Year in Review

By | 2019-01-17T11:29:18+00:00 January 14, 2019|Gordon D. West: KidZ Newsletters, Staff Blogs|

This was a year of continuing to listen for and cooperate with God’s priorities for KidZ at Heart. To the best of our ability, our staff and board gathers regularly for a variety of spiritual practices, where we attempt to create space to be with and listen to God as a ministry team. You might think of it as creating a Tabernacle experience where we can spend time with God personally.

As we continued to follow those practices together in 2018, we saw God bring new [...]

What Others are Saying

"Thank you for coming and I hope you come back soon.  I have been asked to be in charge of the Children's classes at my church.  You have given me so much information to use for my teachers.  Thank you."

"Thank you for coming.  As a Pastor I should know about all of the areas in my church.  I realize now just how little I know about Children's classes.  Now I can better help my teachers."

"These [...]

Unexpected Focus for 2018 ~ North American Ministries

By | 2019-01-14T17:50:23+00:00 January 7, 2019|Janet Anthony: Blog Posts, Staff Blogs|

A new year seems to always begin with a list of priorities, then strategies to reach those priorities, followed by tactics needed to meet the strategies. Though every year our department begins with a detailed plan, our highlight in the North American Ministries department during 2018 has surprisingly been in the area of God-prompted relationships. We have discovered that those developing relationships have been vital to the health of our department and to accomplishing those priorities as well.

  • More than 100 new relationships are beginning [...]

Children long to be loved.

By | 2018-12-12T17:02:50+00:00 December 12, 2018|Gordon D. West: Blog Posts, Gordon D. West: Newsletters, Staff Blogs|

Children long to be loved. When they are loved consistently and in meaningful ways by adults in their lives who also love Jesus, the children end up falling deeply in love with Jesus themselves. That’s the message of Deuteronomy 6.

However, that’s not the “norm” in our culture and in many others around the world. Dallas Willard shared the grim news during a talk in 2001 when he acknowledged that it is now statistically and anecdotally common to find that Christians generally do not differ significantly [...]

PARTNER.TRAIN.MOBILIZE

Just three words sums up what KidZ at Heart International is all about. It's such a honor for me to work with such an incredible Christian organization that is reaching so many children for Christ. So here's what's it's all about:

Partner. You have relationships with children in your home, church, and community. Your proximity to those children and your relationship with them make you the most effective person to impact them. This is God’s design for passing on our faith to the next generation (Deuteronomy [...]

What will this look like?

By | 2018-11-18T00:05:47+00:00 November 16, 2018|Adam Ormord: Blog Posts, Staff Blogs|

Whenever we consider starting anything new we are faced with the challenge of imagining what it will eventually look like. Lost in wonder, we find ourselves daydreaming of how things will play out as we toy with the logic of "if-then."

If we agree to take this new job in a new city, then what will our lives look like? Will our kids adjust to new friends and new schools? Will our new neighbors be as friendly? Will [...]

Train. Partner. Mobilize. And give thanks!

(Okay...that was six. But you get the point.)

Partner. You have relationships with children in your home, church, and community. Your proximity to those children and your relationship with them make you the most effective person to impact them. This is God’s design for passing on our faith to the next generation (Deuteronomy 6). It’s the same for the networks of adults with whom we partner across the United States and in more than 40 countries around the world where KidZ [...]
