What Makes KidZ Unique

Through short-term mission trips, KidZ at Heart's training is now used in more than 40 countries, including the United States. KidZ is meeting needs around the world by equipping leaders in children’s ministry, helping them identify readily available local resources, and empowering leaders to teach and train others.

Current Internships

Database Data Entry and Reporting

Intern will be trained on NeonCRM (database and customer-relationship management tool) and will become proficient in updating constituent records and creating reports based on requested data. Attention to detail is a must.

Weekly time commitment: 5 hours
Internship commitment: 3-6 months

Bookkeeping Assistant

Intern will assist KidZ Bookkeeper in day-to-day activities associated with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and will become proficient in receiving, posting, and receipting charitable donations. Knowledge of QuickBooks is ideal but not required.

Weekly time commitment: 4-6 hours
Internship commitment: 6 months

Social Media Participation

Intern will draft and post a variety of updates related to the ministry, monitor social media platforms for external posts and comments, and participate by liking, sharing, and retweeting posts. Experience and use of Facebook, Hootsuite, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube is a must. Intern will advance understanding of using social media for advancing the cause of missions.

Weekly time commitment: 3 hours

Fundraising Campaign Creation

Intern will support a development team to write campaign copy, draft a timeline, and creatively approach a fundraising campaign with multiple communication methods. Experience in fundraising is ideal, but not required. Intern will become experienced in personally developing a strategy, monitoring progress, and adjusting processes if necessary.

Copyediting and Formatting Training Materials (English and other languages)

Intern will take previously written training material and format it into KidZ at Heart style and templates. Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Word required. Training in the KidZ at Heart style will be provided online. (If working on material in another language, the intern need not be fully bilingual but have ability to read and understand target language as well as English.) Intern will learn and implement organizational branding standards as well as templated formatting for consistency.

Translating Training Materials

Intern will translate English training materials, varying in length from 8-30 pages, into language of expertise. Knowledge of Christian/biblical terms and education terms a must and Microsoft Word required. Intern will use his or her own language proficiency and apply it to international training ensuring culturally-relevant material is translated accurately.

Google Analytics

Intern will customize Google Analytics for SEO and web trafficking and provide recommendations for existing website. Experience with Google Analytics and a WordPress website are musts. Intern will establish a baseline of analytics for a growing international ministry and be able to report growth in key areas.

IT Help Desk Support

Intern will help with IT-related issues in a virtual office setting. These tasks may include: helping new staff get set up with email and Intranet, resolving general IT-related issues, and researching new technologies to improve KidZ at Heart’s virtual office efficiency. The candidate should have experience in Microsoft SharePoint management and be fluent in all Microsoft Office software programs. Experience working in a virtual office environment is a plus. Intern will develop unique skills of working in a virtual office and effectively identify solutions to IT-related questions.

Online Shopping Cart Programming

Intern will assist Director in identifying and updating product database and work within existing systems to create an online shopping cart to efficiently process payments for the customer. Knowledge and use of QuickBooks is helpful, but not required. Intern will be trained on our internal platform, NeonCRM. Outbound Curriculum Sales

Intern will connect with customers (children’s ministry leaders) and contacts via phone and email selling resources to support their ministry. Phone sales background is helpful and an outgoing personality to engage with customers is a must. Intern will further develop relational skills—listening to customers, answering questions, and providing suggestions based on available resources.

Weekly time commitment: 10-15 hours (preferably Tuesday-Thursday)

Video Training Platform

Intern will assist a team in setting up an online “university” where leaders can pay for children’s ministry training through a new platform. Intern will be trained on our internal platform, NeonCRM. Intern will research implementation steps, complete tasks in a timely manner, and test the use of this new training tool.

Video Editing

Intern will take raw in-country footage and photos and edit them into promotional and educational videos for the ministry. Experience in drafting a storyboard is helpful, but not required. Intern will develop and use skills in formatting promotional videos to better tell the ministries stories.
