Cathy Jacobs has lived for forty years in Charleston, South Carolina. Upon her arrival to Charleston, Cathy joined St. Paul’s Anglican Church. She raised her four children in this church. Today, she loves to take her eight grandchildren to church when they are in town visiting.

When Cathy was in college, a close friend led her into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She had been raised in the church but had never known Jesus personally. Learning that He longed to be an intimate part of her daily life opened a new world for Cathy. Reading her Bible daily and spending quality time in prayer became an integral part of Cathy’s life.

Cathy has been involved in ministry most of her adult life. She taught K5 Sunday School for a number of years. For fifteen years, she was the full-time director of the Children and Family Ministry at her home church. Also, she served on the S.C. Diocesan Board of Faith Formation. Later she became a charter member of Legacy Coalition, a founding member of Grandmas with Heart and the founder of Pass the Legacy Ministry. Recently, she published a book, Pass the Legacy: 7 Keys for Grandparents Making a Difference. When Cathy is not speaking or writing, she enjoys planning and directing Grand Camp, a five-day overnight camp for grandparents with their grandchildren.

In 2021, Cathy was thrilled to join the staff at KidZ at Heart as the Director of Grandparenting Ministry. She looks forward to helping children throughout the world fall deeply in love with Jesus by training grandparents to courageously tell their faith stories to their families. In a culture that pushes grandparents to the side, Cathy is eager to share tools and resources with church leaders so that grandparents can confidently pass the light of Christ to their loved ones.
