I recently joined KidZ at Heart as the Director of Content Development. We have been supporters of the KidZ ministry for several years and their mission of spiritual transformation of children has always resonated with us.

I was brought up in a Christian home and gave my life to Christ when I was eight years old. It was our church that was the constant in a very nomadic childhood through Texas, Alabama, and Colorado. No matter where we moved, I always knew I had a church family to ease the discomfort of change. This nomadic lifestyle continued after marriage to my husband, Mark.

Being an active part of church ministry was a family affair—it was the Christ-centered anchor we needed for us and our two children. Growing up in churches from several denomination perspectives, there are two spiritual disciplines that form the framework for my Christian walk-- prayer and worship.

My grandmother was a fierce prayer warrior and taught me what a powerful weapon prayer can be. My mother modeled for me the joy of unbridled worship through song. Songs of praise were part of every happy and fearful moment of my childhood and continue to be essential for me as an adult.

Currently, Mark and I live in the central part of rural Texas. We are members of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church in Brownwood, Texas. I am blessed to sing in the choir and “cook for Jesus”, as well as serve on various children support ministries. After serving in the church on the sidelines for most of my life, it is so exciting to work for KidZ in full time ministry. This position is the culmination of both work and ministry, utilizing all my experiences for His Kingdom. How blessed I am to be doing this!
