Our Ministry Philosophy

For too long, adults have been teaching children about God instead of connecting them with God. We believe this is a major reason that churches continue to lose such a high percentage of their children as they grow older. Knowledge is important, but relationships are transformative.

Great Commandment Ministry

With this in view, our goal is to help children meet Jesus and develop intimate loving relationships with him. We do this by helping the adults in their lives engage in life-changing spiritual practices for themselves and learn how they can share these with the children they know and love.

We can’t make a child fall deeply in love with Jesus, but we can impact each sphere of her life where her faith is formed. Our training teaches adults to create space for the child to meet with and be transformed by the Holy Spirit.

There are five key spheres where we can impact children to become “great” as Jesus defines it in the “Great Commandment" (Mark 12:28-34):

  • We impact the child’s home to nurture his heart.

  • We impact the child’s prayer life to nurture her soul.

  • We impact the child’s engagement with the Scripture to nurture his mind.

  • We impact the child’s mental, emotional, and physical health to nurture her strength.

  • We impact the child’s interactions with others to nurture his relationships.

In this way, the child grows to love God with all her heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love her neighbors as herself (Mark 12:29-31). What could be “greater” than that?

The KidZ Cause

  • Jesus himself commanded the adults around him to allow the children to come to him. Therefore, we advocate for the children of the world, acknowledging their value and significance, and teaching adults about God’s desire to actively engage with children.

"Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.’ And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them." Matthew 19:14-15 (NLT)

  • Our heart’s desire is to see the 2.3 billion children in our world come to know Jesus Christ as their loving Savior.

God’s message is meant to be passed from one generation to the next through faith communities, therefore we equip the church and family leader to live out his own relationship with God as he shares the good news about Jesus with the children in his sphere of influence.

The KidZ cause continues as we help adults disciple these young believers into lifelong followers of Jesus and harvesters in the fields themselves.

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (NIV)

  • The battle for the souls of 2.3 billion children, their families, and God’s church is an eternal, spiritual fight to be conducted locally and globally in the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s a battle that must be fought, “‘not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.” (Zechariah 4:6)

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 (NIV)
